Air will always contain some level of mold particles, but a professional air quality test can determine whether or not there are harmful levels of mold or other contaminants in the indoor environment. Outside of just mold spores, certain background debris are also picked up by the cassettes and notated during analysis if found. These background debris include: Pollen, Fiberglass, Cellulose Fibers, Plant Fragments, and Insect Fragments. With spore counts and determination of elevations, which can only be provided through IAQ tests not surface samples, one can assess the extent of contamination and determine whether remediation is needed. Post clearance testing will also restore peace of mind to the home owner’s health and safety by letting them know that the remediation was successful.

  • Base service – This package includes one surface sample to determine if it is fungal growth, shipping and lab fees, and lab reporting.
  • Mold Culture – Lab analysis to determine if the mold is alive or dead.
  • Mold Species ID – Lab analysis that includes culturing. Once culturing is done mold techs will identify the specific species of mold found based upon the physical attributes of the growth. This mainly comes into play when someone is hypoallergenic to a specific species of mold.

What is Mold?

There are many different kinds of mold. Naturally, mold grows outdoors and is an important part of the decomposition process, however, when it begins to grow inside a home it can cause problems for not only your home’s structure but your health.

What Can Happen if Mold Is Found?

While most types of mold aren’t toxic, they can still cause health problems if they aren’t taken care of. The most common types of health problems are allergies, allergic reactions (which can be severe), sinus infections, lung inflammation, respiratory infections, asthma attacks, and breathing problems.

WHAT DOES MOLD NEED TO LIVE?

Mold needs a food source, right temperature, and moisture. The best way to prevent mold from growing inside is to control moisture.
